Virginia Winds Academy

The Virginia Winds Academy is a extra-curricular Honors Ensemble that exists to contribute to the vibrant musical education and performance community in the Northern Virginia region. The Academy’s ensembles represent cooperative efforts of music educators in collegiate, secondary, and primary music education environments. The participating members also reflect the talent and collective musical prowess of the formidable private music instruction available in Northern Virginia.

Auditions are held in May of each year for the following school year. Rehearsals are held at Robinson Secondary School in Fairfax with Performances at Woodson High School, John Champe High School, and George Mason University.
