High School Band is one of the best experiences you will have in high school. It is an opportunity to be with a community of people who become a part of your family by striving for the same goal. You will grow not only in your musical ability but as a person as well. You will have more opportunities for performance in our community. You will find a core group of people who will stand by you whenever you need them. You will have fun. You will laugh. Thank you to everyone who was able to make it to last Wednesday’s marching band interest meeting! I’m looking forward to a great season coming up. A few things:

Please check this for any information about the season, including the financial commitment and detailed schedule information. It also has the show theme for any students who missed that. I know that being a new student/parent to this activity can be overwhelming at times, so let me know if you have any questions about anything. A few pieces of information regarding the fee/financial commitment:
-The final number is based on the total number of students. Once we have our final roster set, the final fee will be determined.
-If your family needs financial assistance, please email me directly at this address. There is assistance available through both the school and the boosters.
-No payments are being collected at this time. More information will come out in the summer regarding the payment schedule.

2026 SCHS Marching Band Schedule
The full season schedule, from the summer rehearsals all the way through the last show, are listed here in one document (this is easier than the google slides to sift through). A few notes:
-Our competition schedule is still TBD. Once it is finalized, I will email back out, but please block off any weekends you see on this calendar.
-SUMMER REHEARSALS: You will see that all sections have several rehearsals throughout June and July. These rehearsals are mandatory if students are in town. If your family has a vacation scheduled during any of those rehearsals, they should email their respective staff member (email addresses listed on the google slide).
-All dates from the start of band camp (August 3rd) moving forward are mandatory.
Schoology Code
All students should join the Schoology group with the following code: 79JG-GGJK-MWMV6
*Alerts for Schoology should be ON for students on their phone. Once we get into band camp/the season, this will be my primary form of communication with students. They are expected to get push notifications and check it regularly.
June 9th Rehearsal
If your student wants to check out the ensemble, meet other members, and see what the group is about before committing, we have a rehearsal on June 9th, 6-8 PM at SCHS. This is a great chance to try it out before committing. Please encourage your student to come out, and have them bring any friends who are interested as well. They never know if it’s going to be for them until they try it out 😊
