8th Grade band student "interviews" will be happening the week of March 17th taking place in the Band hallway during classes.
Mr. Engdahl will be coming over to SCMS during our band classes to get an update on which 8th graders will be continuing Band into high school as freshmen.
This short one-two minute conversation with each student allows Mr. Engdahl to know the following information:
1.) Will the student be enrolled in band for the next school year?
2.) Is the student interested in being a part of the Marching Stallions?
3.) Does each student know all options of how to make Band a part of their high school schedule? If not, Mr. Engdahl shares that
information.
4.) If students are taking band next year, Mr. Engdahl will ask if they are auditioning for Symphonic Band and ask each student if they
have any questions about the Audition Material.
5.) Mr. Engdahl encourages all students to continue their band education because high school band offers so many wonderful
opportunities that middle school band does not. If the student does not wish to take band, there is no pressure to change their mind
and he will wish them well in their future endeavors.
The interview is non-binding but is done in order to make sure Mr. Engdahl has the most accurate information so he can begin to plan his next year's classes as well as plan out for Marching Band.
Audition materials for South County High School Symphonic Band can be found on Schoology.
Auditions are taking place on Tuesday, April 1st. Please sign up for a slot on the Sign-Up Genius.
