Slow Down: The first and foremost step is to slow down your car. It is not advisable to drive even at a normal speed through flooded roads. You will have no idea of the depth of the road because of the flood, so slowing down will help you drive safely.
The headlights: Hit the button and turn the headlights ON. After slowing down, turning the headlight ON will help you see the way ahead. This will help you see the depth of the road as you drive. As you drive just to make sure your car has enough weight because your car might float in the deeper water.
Turn off your AC: Once turning on the headlights go ahead and turn off the Air Conditioning. Because the fan in your engine compartment will get affected because of the flood. Turn off your AC and put your car on the first gear.
Throttle down: Keep your throttle down this ensures the health of your engine by making your car move forward slowly.
Never Stop: As you ride through the flood, don’t stop your car. You might end up getting stuck in your car.
Now increase the speed: Once you see that the flood is low and the road is visible, gradually increase the speed. Once you are free from the flood, stop the car and check if everything is okay.
