COVID-19 has locked us inside for almost a year threatening for life. This state of us made even our vehicles to stay inside the garage for a longer time than expected. Usage of the car will lead to repair and maintenance but keeping them idle for a long is a terrible idea. Look for motor insurance in India.
Start them whenever possible: We cannot drive unless it is essential. But we can still keep the engine switched on at times. It is always a good idea to start the engine for about 10 minutes once in 3 or 4 days. This will keep the battery fully charged. Battery life matters, right? Keep them full if not battery will develop dead cells resulting in an exchange of your car battery.
Clean them: Cleaning them is important even before COVID peaked in. Wash your car at least once a week and dust them whenever possible. Use the two-bucket method. Wash them off with flowing water once and tap them dry using a soft and try towel.
In case you had a drive, make sure to clean with alcoholic cleaners in the most used areas of your car like your key, steering, seat belts, driver’s door, rear-view mirror, and the dashboard. Alcoholic cleaners are certified to clean 99.9% of the germs. Using soap water is also found useful. Be it any kind of cleaners; make sure to keep the car clean.
Keep the fuel tank full: Keep your car’s fuel tank full. This will not let any kind vapour to be formed in the tank. The steam created in the tank leads to rust and will affect your next ride.
Protect them from the environment: Keep them covered when not used. Keeping them under sunlight for a long time will cause the paint to wear. It is advisable to park your car in a shaded area.
