The mutative qualities of the Gloom, as explained with the Gloom-Strain Terminids, has been recorded as far more extreme than those of more common Rebellis Strains. Though whilst the Gloom-Strain are specifically evolved and found in the spore-heavy environments of Gloom-engulfed worlds, this particular strain, since dubbed the Predator-Strain, is not bound by such travel restrictions, as per our first encounter with these creatures upon Fenrir III
Easily identified by their distinctive green carapaces, ravenous metabolism and most worrying of all, their greatly increased intelligence. Such intelligence has made them responsible, by the end of February 2185, for roughly 18% of all SEAF casualties across Fenrir III alone, mostly achieving this through luring SEAF Squads into carefully planned ambushes, though I only can grimly guess cause practically no SEAF Squads have reported back from close encounters themselves.
Rather interestingly, planets with known Predator-Strain Terminids also have an absence of Scavenger, Warrior and Hive Guard populations, whenever or not it is coincidence or the fact that the mutated Hunters and Stalkers have since predated them on account of their rampant metabolism, i do not wish to answer
Lock and load gents, eyes peeled and heads on swivels, every meter between you and them is life, y'know what you're paid for, get to work.
