Hunters (Gloom-Strain)
Conversely, other Hunter variants have reacted more violently upon exposure to the Gloom's spores, undergoing a transformation bearing the hallmarks of most Gloom-Strain Terminids. In the case of Hunters, the spores have begun to physically grow atop the Hunter's Carapace, causing the carapace to harden and its joints stiffening. Both have the worrying knock-on effect of making its entire carapace far more resistant to incoming gunfire. Finally, much like all Gloom-Strain Terminids, they mass-produce spores within their bodies and under great pressure. Given their new explosive nature and the standard behavioral traits they are known for, these newly named "Clickers" can become dangerous impromptu explosives if they get the chance to close in
In light of their hardened carapace, preliminary experiments from myself have also revealed the Head to be relatively unchanged in actual resilience, a clean, rifle-calibre shot to the head should be enough to put them down for good well before they explode.
Compared to the Predator-Strain first discovered earlier on Fenrir III, their Gloom-Strain counterparts do not appear to be any more or less intelligent than their non-infected counterparts. That is to not say you should underestimate the Hunters nonetheless, they still retain the cunning of before.
[Personal Note #72]: Every study I make of these shows how much more out of hand we truly are when compared against these beasts. Its not looking good, but for now, i must focus.
