CARD CROPPING & Bleed:

In order to use the proper template for your card, you must follow this provided guideline.

  • In Design docs are stored in the Cards Decided on Folder - look for the most recent folder:
  • Download the entire folder.
  • Open the InDesign Doc in InDesign
  • Export as a PDF your card
  • Open in Photoshop
  • Keep File Naming Convention
  • Make sure to select Media Box Cropping
  • Then scale the pixels/inch to 1100
  • This will allow for a 2.5 x 3.5 card for print - but larger for marketing images.
  • Your card will be 3025 x 4125

Or short cut all of that by making a screenshot of the current card set with your template

Then make sure to up size to 3025 x 4125 pixel dimensions

Size for sketching and not publishing from inDesign:

  • Your card is printed at 2.5" x 3.5" - but we need it larger for marketing images.
  • Your card will be pixel dimensions should be 3025 x 4125
  • You can get a screenshot of your card from the home page card set for you to sketch over. (if there is not yours exactly - then use a different character/event from the same team/powderkeg or war and put the new title on it)

Item:

Scaling:

The main item should be the focal point of the image. Other objects can appear in the frame and interacting with the main item but you should avoid having them taking the spotlight away. Having props to support the main item helps provide context to the item and helps the player make connections to it's historical significance during the Revolutionary War.

Lack of Props

Composition is dull

To many Props

Ink is to small on screen

Good Balance

Ink is in the forefront

The background of this sewing needle card primarily uses red, white, and blue. The colors of the american flag. It provides context for how this item was used during this time period. The background is blurred and the sewing needle is in the forefront clashing with the red and given more detail to push it forward.
