Most of my work features moving parts and in recent months I have been developing a process that allows me to recycle plastic. This piece is an opportunity to combine kinetic sculpture with the recycled material. The plastic sheet made from waste packing material (commercially known as LDPE) is undulated by rotating cams below the surface. This happens slow enough that exploring fingers have time to discover other textures and shapes carved into the plastic and the wood base supporting it. By design, there is much more to experience with this piece tactilely than visually.
