As an undergrad, I discovered my passion towards gender stereotypes in sports and how they negatively impact women's involvement in sports. This research has driven me to be a path for young women in the field of sports. I have spent many years interning and working for the Morris Area Community Education office. In the three coaching positions, I have found the importance of ending gender stereotypes and why some women do not join male-dominated sports.
I am scheduled to graduate in May of 2020, with a Master of Science in Educational Leadership, with an emphasis in Student Affairs from Minnesota State University, Moorhead (MSUM). My goal is to pursue a career in higher education.
In addition to my studies, I was a Graduate Assistant for the Career Development Center at MSUM and then transitioned into a Career Coach at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota. My work as a Career Coach has inspired me to be a role-model to the students I work with through my leadership skills by striving for bigger and better objectives, and continuously helping students advocate confidently for themselves about their career goals.
