Participation for the first round will again be with videos. This includes all categories...speeches, reading and teams.
Except for unforeseen circumstances, the provincial finals and national final will be presented at a venue. The dates and venues of participation will be available on our web under the “dates” tab. Venues will be published as soon as confirmation received from the school who will be hosting the event.
Videos
Please ensure clear background, sound and lightning for the video.
Speaker to announce his/her name, surname, grade, item, and school before they start their speech, or this information must clearly be stated in the email when submitting the video.
The video of the speaker (in school uniform) can be recorded full-length or half-body. Please make sure the notes are visible and that the speaker's full face also appears on the screen. Speakers to present their speech with attention to eye contact as if their is an audience, or may look into the camera.
We came across many learners who have READ their speeches from a screen. The adjudicators will be stricter on this, and speakers will be penalized.
Learners must please present their speech/reading in a standing position. Teams are allowed to sit.·
The video must be sent as one continuous video and not broken up in parts. Only one video per item is allowed.
We again request that videos be recorded on You-Tube, as this method works very well. There is step by step instructions on our web under “videos” to send the video directly from your cell phone to our email radikaleredenaar@gmail.com.
There is also a video on our you-tube channel on how to record the video.
Videos received on another platform will result in a delay of receiving the results.
How it works when we receive the videos:
It gets sent (in order of date received) to the various adjudicators. After adjudication, the certificates and adjudicator’s notes are sent to the email address where the video was sent from. In case the videos were submitted by the school, the results will also be sent to the school.
The videos are only shared with the adjudicators, and after adjudication it gets deleted. This is to protect the learner's privacy from our side. (click on the link at the bottom of the page for our terms and conditions).
We cannot reply to every email for a video we receive. If you have not received a certificate 7 days before the results are published on the web, please follow up with an e-mail to avoid a learner's results being delayed or lost.
