Texts

image above is a drawing of students' definition of 'mass media'

The texts I chose for this class focused on individuals who are in the public eye, or those who use and create their own media to provide more details about the interiority of their lives and communities.

Many of the articles and readings I selected for the beginning of the course happened to include narratives from athletes, or people remembering their times playing sports, or being parts of teams or communities. Each of these non-fiction narratives include life lessons from critical moments, which is something that I thought a lot of students could analyze in relation to their own lives.

I found the textbook I use in this class through the Skyline College Library's databases and collection of e-books. I'm excited that this textbook is updated as well as related and applicable to the course content. Five of the chapters are presented below.
