Unified Structured Inventive Thinking (USIT)
USIT Overview
Unified Structured Inventive Thinking (USIT) is a problem-solving and innovation methodology that was developed by Dr. Jacob Goldenberg and Dr. David Ullman. USIT is based on the idea that innovation can be taught and that creativity can be enhanced through the application of specific techniques.
USIT is a four-step process that helps individuals and organizations generate new ideas and solutions to problems. The four steps are:
Define the Problem: Clearly defining the problem that needs to be solved.
Generate Solutions: Generating a wide range of potential solutions through structured brainstorming and ideation techniques.
Evaluate Solutions: Evaluating the potential solutions based on specific criteria, such as feasibility, impact, and alignment with organizational goals.
Implement Solutions: Selecting the best solution and implementing it.
USIT provides a structured and systematic approach to innovation that is designed to be flexible and adaptable. The approach is based on the idea that innovation can be taught and that creativity can be enhanced through the application of specific techniques. By using USIT, individuals and organizations can generate new ideas, solve problems, and drive innovation more effectively and efficiently.
