Design Thinking Overview
Design Thinking is a human-centered approach to problem solving and innovation. It is a methodology that emphasizes empathy, experimentation, and iteration in the development of new products, services, and experiences.
Design Thinking is a five-step process:
Empathize: Understanding the needs, wants, and motivations of the people you are designing for by gathering data through observation, interviews, and other research methods.
Define: Synthesizing the insights gained from the empathize phase into a clear problem statement.
Ideate: Generating a wide range of ideas and potential solutions through brainstorming and other ideation techniques.
Prototype: Creating physical or digital representations of the most promising ideas to test and validate them.
Test: Gathering feedback and insights from real users to iterate on the design and refine the solution.
Design Thinking is a flexible and iterative approach that values rapid prototyping and testing over extensive planning and analysis. It is designed to be an inclusive and collaborative process that involves stakeholders from different backgrounds and perspectives.
