ABOUT

Young, muscular and tall, Andrew is a freshly-trained soldier. He’s got short hair and a couple of scars on his back. He wears a black and white military suit on missions, which contrasts heavily with the spotless and simplistic outfit he’s forced to wear off-field. He’s an excellent shooter and hand-to-hand fighter, ruthless and loyal to the company.

He and his sister Phoebe are both part of Pharmatek’s experiment project Twins. As the strongest of the two, Andrew was recruited as part of the UMF’s special operation, OPSY Squad.

Despite the strain of his training, Andrew had always been focused on his role, until he was assigned the elimination of NATHAN. Andrew found out quickly enough that the man had a way to reduce his patience to shatters and frustrated him more and more during their encounters.

BACKGROUND

Childhood

To say Andrew had a childhood would be a revolting lie. Created in the Labs, the twins were born officially on January 1st 2065.

Andrew and Phoebe, his sister, spent nearly their entire childhood hooked up to machinery in Pharmatek's labs, monitoring even the slightest fluctuation in which direction their teeth grew.

The perfect specimen in the literal definition of the term, not a single muscle out of place, no room for beauty marks, for freckles, for potential health issues…

When others kids learn to draw houses and cats with shitty crayolas, the twins were taught how to mathematically strategize everything. Suddenly, fitting blocks in shapes wasn’t just skill learning, it was a necessary step to their training, failure was not an option for them, only letting them rest after hours of intense reflection and early physical therapy to prepare them for their future.

Surprisingly, keeping the twins together during this step made it all the more efficient as they acted as mutual support, encouraging each others and sometimes making it a fun competition. They became inseparable and often showed reluctance to do anything if the other wasn’t present.

Teenagerhood

The co-dependancy of the twins did not go unnoticed by the scientists in charge of the project. Thankfully, puberty gave them an excuse to build up a breach between the two, using Phoebe’s spikes in emotional fluctuations to their advantage and implanting the idea that Phoebe would refrain Andrew to ascend to his full potential.

This separation hardened Andrew’s mind, making him far less receptive to his sister’s affection and less responsive to praise. He began to treat everything as a menial task, growing distant towards everything and focusing on his physical training for the UMF, seeing this opportunity as a ticket out of the Labs, giving him purpose.

However, this big a change also meant that Andrew would become unstable himself as well, pushing his training to intense exertion, sometimes nearly harming himself and needing to be stopped by trainees. Dead set on closing off anything that could disturb his goal, Andrew also became distrustful towards the scientific team, no longer confessing to their therapist, not taking some of the medicines they were given.

At some point, they began to completely cut off contact between the twins, stating that Phoebe had developed an illness that needed her to be isolated, which Andrew did not even question.

It was only a few months later, during their anniversary checkup, which they had always done together, that Andrew noticed he was missing his twin sister, alarmed by her absence at the appointment and the picture of her sunken eyes and sad stare on the projected update of the siblings. He, however, believed the scientists were actually helping her with an unnamed illness, unknown to him that they were the persecutors to her sister’s condition.

THE OPSY SQUAD

At 18, Andrew is given the opportunity to become part of the OPSY Squad, which he has been intensely trained to fit and becomes a irreplacable asset for the corporates in charge of the collaboration. He jumps to the occasion and is sent on occasional missions, seeing the outside world.

Of course, he notices the disrepency between the definition he was given of the reality before his eyes and the description he was given. Alas, Andrew has no choice but to keep his emotions in check, hiding it all from his superior and colleagues’ watchful eyes.

While he was ready for the missions, he was not immediatly given his Drift implant. Instead, the team waited for him to prove his allegiance to the cause. Which Andrew did, at the cost of a troubled conscience and blood on his hands.

Only then was Andrew trusted with the Drift, giving him access to secured data in the company.
