Faceplate & Poppet cover etc.
Even the poppet cover has the serial number 1253
Above is the tailstock poppet cover, more commonly known today as a drill pad.
Keeping to Pittlers high quality workmanship, even a small item like this was made to measure and bears the lathe serial number 1253.
Below is the standard faceplate, another type offered as an extra had 4 moveable jaws.
All lathes were provided with a T or hand rest which could be used for chasing threads or other hand operations, note the serial number 1253 and also the number 21. This number is also allocated to this lathe and many smaller parts such as the leadscrew handles bear this number
Two faceplates but not quite the same design, the one on the left is from an early B2, it is thinner and has square ended slots. The second one has rounded ends to the slots and is altogether more robust with a larger diameter centre boss for additional strength.
The hand or T rest
The bottom end of the T rest showing both the lathe number 1253 and additional number 21 found also on the lathe handles
