Karratha has a number of taverns, bars, cafés and restaurants in town providing a wide range of cuisines. There is a brewery out in the industrial area near Taylor Barracks - North West Brewing Company - who also serve food. Many bars provide live music from talented locals and travelling musicians. However, be prepared to pay the “Pilbara tax” and varying opening hours due to staff shortages.

One of the PRFG's all-time favourite coffee hang outs is Lo's at the Quarter. With indoor and outdoor options, it is a great place to catch up with a small group, or picnic-style on the lawn and the kids can play.

Red Earth Arts Precinct (REAP) is the home for the arts in Karratha. This facility holds a theatre, cinema, library, and outdoor amphitheatre which is used for concerts and other events.
There are also numerous events and festivals throughout the year (particularly during the Winter months) such as the FeNaClNG Festival, Red Country Music Festival, Brew and the Moo.
