We all know that trying to start the conversation with young people about drugs and alcohol can be hard. We want to help you as you start this conversation with your young people
We made a presentation which can be used to facilitate the conversation and raise awareness around drugs and alcohol.
Please make young people aware of the risk of using these cylinders (image below).
Nitrous Oxide Gas- You have probably have seen these small bullet like cylinders on the ground. Over the last couple of years they've become a popular drug of choice because they are relatively cheap and you can buy them in some shops and of course online.
Young people who use nitrous oxide, commonly known as “laughing gas”, to get high are running huge risks with their health, including paranoia, breathing problems and even death.
The effects of inhaling nitrous oxide gas can include headaches, nausea, dizziness, unconsciousness, collapse and consequent injury.
Those using it illicitly often breathe it in after it has been transferred from silver vials into balloons.
