Book Titles
When writing about a book, always list the title first, and link from the title, then “by” followed by the author’s name. (example: There There by Tommy Orange)
Oakland Public Library Locations
When using initialisms or acronyms, state the full name or title in the first instance. (example: Oakland Public Library (OPL)) If there is an abbreviation included in parenthesis, you can use the abbreviation on its own after the first time you write it out.
Don’t use abbreviations for any that don’t show abbreviations in parenthesis in this list. You don’t have to include the abbreviation in parenthesis if you aren’t planning to use it later in your writing.
