Shave Wood

This walk was 4.5km but it can be almost any length you want.  The Shave Wood car park is just off the A31 which makes it a perfect drop off for a summer wander.  Although this route mainly follows mapped paths, I tend to take a "free form" route, heading left from the car park then every so often turning right until I return to the car park.  It's hard to get totally lost as the roads make a definite boundary.

One added adventure is to find the pony underpass under the A337.  This takes to a whole new walking wonderland on the other side.

This little wood has more ancient deciduous areas, open areas and a small amount of conifers.  A great mix in a small area.

N.B. This car park can be closed in winter months.
