Poundhill Loop (6 miles)

Either start from the Blackwater car park on the Rhinefield Ornamental Drive, or the Hollands Hill Campsite. This route takes you along the river, through ancient broadleaved and more modern coniferous woodland, as well as open heathland. You also skirt around the New Forest Showground and adjoining fields, which often have herds of fallow and red deer grazing.
