Despite objections from numerous quarters, including the Friends of Alexandra Park, the Haringey Heartlands Development received outline planning permission from the Haringey Council Planning Sub-committee on September 22nd 2011. This will further reduce the open views, from the lower part of Alexandra Park, as the blocks of flats will form an almost continuous wall at a height of about 20 metres above the railway embankment.
