The tuba is a brass instrument, which requires air to be blown into the mouthpiece and the lips to buzz to make sound. It is the largest of the brass instruments, and comes in two forms: the concert tuba (where you sit to to play) and the sousaphone (that you see in marching bands and jazz/funk/ska bands). It has a low voice, and is the sound foundation of the band. Without it, we wouldn't be as strong as we want to be. So it's a very important instrument in any group.
