Revising Diplomatic Immunities
Thanks to their status, government officials and diplomats worldwide benefit from legal immunity from the jurisdiction of other countries due to the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations. Unfortunately, some diplomats misuse their power to take advantage of individuals and organisations.
So far, there have been reported plenty of cases of power exploitation such as theft, drug smuggling, employer abuse and slavery, different types of vehicular offences, money laundering, tax fraud and, worst of all, murder. Should the rights attributed to diplomats be restricted? How can the UN rework its legal framework for diplomatic immunities? For this and much more, come to the Legal Committee of MUNtenia!

The Chairpersons
Hello, prospective delegates! My name is Alexandra, I’m a senior in high school and I cannot wait to chair the Legal committee alongside Codrin at the second edition of MUNTenia! I am passionate about international affairs and I cannot wait to guide you throughout this conference and help you discover the beauty of the Legal committee! A few things about me: I’m a bookworm, I love psychology and my favourite colour is purple. I can’t wait to meet you all!
Hello, delegates! I'm Codrin, a junior at "Mihai Eminescu" National College Botoșani, and I'm thrilled to chair the Legal committee alongside Alexandra! Even though I started my MUN journey almost two years ago, this will be my first time chairing and I'm glad it will be at the second edition of MUNtenia.
My hobbies go from public speaking to music and video games. I'm the type of teenager who always has their headphones on and hums to something. In the past years, I've started learning how to play some instruments, taking my hobby more seriously. I've also been in my school's debate club since I started ninth grade.
I look forward to meeting you all in the committee!!!
