The idea here is to use the new technology in order to gain buying power. Individuals and small groups who need to buy the same product can get together and make a large order, thus lowering the price/unit. This operation can be supported through a website.

Example

A few small construction/renovation companies specialized in roofing decide to get together to buy materials for a large part of the season. Some materials are customer specific but others are generic, like the coating and sealers for example, and can be purchased in large quantities and consumed throughout the season. The website acts as a dynamic database storing individual's wishes with all their important properties: type of product, brand, quantity, targeted price, delivery date, delivery location, etc. This database also contains suppliers, their products and their associated prices, information relevant to delivery, lead time, etc. It also provides search capabilities and automated matchmaking, suggesting other wishes that could be associated together.
