We are trying to set up a laboratory to implement and test our ideas. This lab is a small rural community near Montreal, Canada, willing to experiment with open and collaborative initiatives in order to develop the local economy and to increase its resilience, by reducing the dependence of the village on the government and on other centralized institutions. This project was inspired by In Transition. Multitude Project is hoping to play a role in designing and building the infrastructure of communication, collaboration and coordination (CCC) for this socio-economical project. Our role will be neutral, listening to the needs of the locals and providing them with the best tools to facilitate their collaborative work. Our goal is to design and test the CCC infrastructure at a small scale, with direct feedback from the community. The results will be released on a Creative Commons license to be applied in other parts of the world.
