About The Program

Program size: Average 6 residents per class

Opposition: Emergency Medicine, Psychiatry

Overview: CRDAMC Family Medicine is a well-rounded program with Active Duty and civilian faculty experienced in clinical medicine (multiple faculty with fellowship training in Sports Medicine, FM- Obstetrics, Geriatrics) academics and scholarship (multiple faculty with professorships at the Uniformed Services University, nationally-renowned educators, and Faculty Development Fellowship training), clinical leadership, and operational medicine (prior and current Flight, Battalion, and Brigade Surgeons). The program prides itself on offering a wide array of experience and training in all of the above while maintaining a collegial learning environment and family-friendly approach to wellbeing. The program also hosts the Army’s only FM-Obstetrics Fellowship. Fort Hood is located in Texas hill country with many rivers and lakes creating rugged valleys ideal for many outdoor sports; a mixture of German, Spanish, Mexican, and Czech cultures; and within easy driving distance to Austin and Waco, and a little further to San Antonio, Houston, Fort Worth, and Dallas- 4 of the top 12 largest US metropolitan areas, all within the post’s no-leave-necessary travel radius!
