About The Program

Program size: Average 6 residents per class

Opposition: Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Transitional Year, Emergency Medicine (civilian program through Augusta University)

Overview: The DDEAMC Family Medicine Program is unique as it is housed in a medical center, which allows close relationships with subspecialists, unopposed obstetric practice but has the small community feel of an Army community hospital. Residents learn from active duty and retired civilian physicians, fellowship trained in sports, obstetrics, adolescent and faculty development, who emphasize competent, compassionate and comprehensive patient care. Augusta, home of the Masters Golf Tournament, is the second largest city in Georgia, on the Savannah River with a multitude of restaurants and ample outdoor activities for adults and families alike. Enjoy lots of sun, affordable housing, ample parking and the perfect environment for you and your family!
