HMB-16

Type:  Helicopter Agility Course

Location:  Suburb of Los Angeles

Gates:  48

Elevation Change: N/A

Difficulty: Beginner

So, here you are.    An actual beginner course.      All the pylons (except the one at the parking garage) are at ground level.   This will help cement your ability to control a helicopter on a mostly 2-dimensional course.     After flying this one a few times with both the Cabri and the Mini-500, you will build your muscle memory with some of the basic controls.

Those 2 helis are a great choice to get acclimated for a couple of reasons:

Larger helicopters can of course be used, but the clearances are greatly reduced.   So you should probably consider those to be advanced level aircraft.     Once this track becomes easy, move on to HMB-15.   It will add the 3rd dimension with some pylons on top of buildings.  After that, then you're ready for the really tough ones.   HMB-14, HMB-10, and the rest of the helicopter courses.

These might seem  a bit daunting at first, because helicopters are tough to fly anyway.   But while you are busy racing against your friends (or enemies)  on these tracks, you'll be learning to fly a heli in the fastest way I know how...
