MeeshTrax

This is the home of MeeshTrax.   A collection of challenging race courses for both fixed wing and rotorcraft (and even vehicles!) in MSFS.

It's also the repository of the latest creation:   SmoothFlight.    A utility to adjust your graphics so that you don't suffer so badly around large cities or complex airports.

Hey!   Just a reminder:  Turn off photogrammetry when racing!   Seriously, photogrammetry changes so many thing up close that most tracks are completely un-usable until it's turned off.

Not only that, but  photogrammetry buildings look horrible up close.   And it will also prevent you from flying under a lot of bridges.  Some tracks may not be affected, but most are.   So just do yourself a favor and turn it off for a bit while running pylons.   It's easy to turn back on when you're ready to fly high and slow again.

The "HMB" stands for Hold My Beer and watch this.    These tracks are all about the fantasy of flight from a young man's perspective.    You know, doing stupid things with dangerous machinery and getting away with it.   We always wanted to fly, but not for the purpose of polite flight.   We dreamed of buzzing our neighbor's house, or racing down a tight canyon, or a myriad of other crazy stunts.     We didn't pursue getting an IRL private pilot's license because the rules of the FAA (and basic common decency) wouldn't allow us to do the things we always wanted to do anyway.

The race courses held within this collection are what would happen if our inner 9 year old was turned loose.  It's a chance to make all those childhood dreams come true.  Barf bag not included.

Each track contains an airport with a fuel depot.    It will also contain enough usable hangars and/or helipads to support a group flight at any of them as start, destination, or re-fueling stop.   The ICAO code will be the track name (minus the dash).

All content was created in VR with the VR pilot in mind.   So if you love to fly in VR, you're going to really love these courses....but let's be clear:  VR is NOT required..   It's just that it's so cool, I want to encourage you to try it.

Many of the reveals and scenic vistas were chosen because of the impact it has in a 3-D headset.

At the very least, download the tracks and run through the pylons.   But if you want to brag about your accomplishments, that is done by also adding the Race Tracker software by AtomicTerrorPig.  This can be downloaded from FlightSim.to  http://flightsim.to/file/36369/race-tracker

The race tracker includes a global (persistent) leaderboard.   So you don't have to race against someone in real-time.  You can set a time and then challenge your buddies to beat you, even if they live on the other side of the globe.

Here's a video promo made by our friend Pete O'Heet:   He's quite talented.   http://youtu.be/oKFaiIyW3YY
