MCU promotes energy conservation on campus by utilizing energy-efficient lighting systems in all buildings. The university reinforces this commitment through signages and reminders that raise awareness among students and staff about responsible energy consumption.
MCU on Affordable and Clean Energy
I. University Measures towards Affordable and Clean Energy
In every new building or renovation project, the university makes sure that sustainable features are included.
MCU is embracing renewable energy, especially solar power, to help reduce its carbon footprint and support a greener future. Solar panels are being installed across the campus to produce clean electricity, cutting down the use of non-renewable energy. Energy-efficient air conditioner as well as LED light are being installed. This effort shows MCU’s strong commitment to sustainability and inspires students, faculty, and the community to live eco more friendly lives.
MCU is committed to protecting the environment and reducing greenhouse gas emissions through its Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction Program. The university has launched several eco-friendly projects to lower its carbon footprint, such as utilization of electric vehicles and bicycles and providing pedestrian lanes that connect buildings. These actions have helped MCU cut down its CO₂ emissions by approximately 506.7 tons per year, which is equivalent to planting around 23,030 trees annually.
