The bootlace worm is a particullarly striking nemertean most famous for its incredible length. Growing up to 30 meters long (100 ft!), they are the longest recorded invertebrate species on the planet. With a long, slender, ribbon-like body, this organism is typically a reddish-brown in which allows it to blend with its environment. Bootlace worms are typically found crawling or gliding over surfaces in shallow coastal waters and burrowing in the sand or underneath rocks.
