Tonicella lineata "Lined Chiton"

Like other polyplacophorans, lined chitons are known for their flattened body and 8 overlapping dorsal plated. Its name arises from the distinctive stripped patterns that run along the plates. These slow-moving organisms are particularly hardy and well-adapted to harsh conditions on coastal shores.
