Lazikis are a feathery lizard-like familiar species meant for psychometry magic. They are found in the wild, usually in trees, burrows, bodies of water, or rarely abandoned houses and sewers. They are also, of course, sold in shelters. Lazikis are the most common familiar for those learning psychometry magic.
The laziki of course possesses the psychometry ability. When touching inanimate objects associated with an event or person, they will discover facts about the said event/person and give it to their owner. However, the laziki has to speak to be able to give their owner this information, and it is very hard to teach lazikis how to speak - which means, to get the most and the best information, one would have to temporarily absorb the powers of, or merge with their laziki familiar. This can be very risky for beginner magic users and those doing this without supervision, and it is easy to accidentally merge permanently with the familiar.
At first, a laziki can be pretty aloof and scared in an unfamiliar environemnt, but once they get used to their owner, they will be very sweet and cuddly. They have the ability to sense wherever their owners are via scent, and use this to surprise their owners often. Lazikis can also purr like cats when happy.
All lazikis are some shade of white, but can have very different variations of patterns and other colors. The most common feather pattern for them are stripes and leopard spots. They can also have any eye color, though it's most common to be purple and green. Their scleras are often green or yellow instead of white.
