Fungatos

Fungatos are cat familiars that all have different types of fungi/mushrooms on their bodies. Fungatos actually have a lot of different magic types they're meant for, but the most common are clairvoyance, ground, and terra. They are found mostly in the wild but sometimes in shelters. Every year, a wild fungato will seek out an owner to bind to and become their familiar. This lasts a week. Any time before or after, they are "hibernating".

Variations

Lots of variations of fungatos exist, all resembling a real mushroom. Puffball fungatos, Chanterelle fungatos, and Morel fungatos are the most commonly found in the wild. Any other fungato is rare to find in the wild and mostly only found in shelters.

Glowing fungato

Glowing fungatos are a type of fungato that contains a mushroom only found on its body. Glowing fungatos are extremely rare to find, not helped by their hibernating for almost the entire year. Glowing fungatos, unlike other fungatos, don't look for a person to bind to.

Hallucinogenic uses

Glowing fungatos blood and the mushrooms on their bodies are used as hallucinogens. They are often killed in the process and are almost extinct because of it. Glowing fungatos are also illegal to be adopted because of the common use of them as a drug. The effects of the blood can cause drastic effects later in life, like rotting of the brain, but the mushrooms have the same effects as normal shrooms.
