Partial List of Statewide Activities- 2010

More than 82 educational and support group meetings and special events held across the state.

Thousands of brochures and other educational literature distributed to health care professionals and the public.

Multiple May is Lyme Disease Awareness Month proclamations & programs.

Multiple showings of the movie, Under Our Skin, for the public and health care professionals.

Established a state-wide Lyme disease website to assist with educational efforts.

Established a group web page for individual support groups across the state and to assist in advertising bordering Pennsylvania volunteer group programs.

Established a Maryland Legislative website to assist with educating politicians and the public about political efforts in the state and keep a record of legislative activities.

Established a website with information specifically about children with Lyme and TBD’s and Dr. Jones situation.

Established a Virginia Lyme educational website for neighboring Virginia residents.

Established a Florida Lyme educational website for Florida residents.

Defeated 3 unacceptable Lyme-related Maryland legislative bills with assistance from Maryland groups, residents and patients.

Established working relationships with county/state government agencies and private organizations.

1st annual Spring-for-Lyme fundraiser to benefit Lyme-Aid-4-Kids & Lyme research- held in Baltimore.

Maryland volunteers enlisted the support of all Maryland Congressional Members and as a result they all signed on as cosponsors on the federal Lyme disease bills.

Several group leaders, volunteers and doctors attended the national conference in Pennsylvania and the Volunteer Advocates workshop, some presenting programs at the event as selected speakers.
