As you know May is Lyme Disease Awareness Month and has been celebrated as such since the 1990's. In Maryland, as always, we will focus our efforts on presenting and supporting a variety of programs that help raise awareness throughout our state and surrounding areas. Bug Repellents
For years I've used and recommended Avon Bug Repellents for the simple reason they work well, and Avon sells non-scented products that hunters, farmers and other outdoors people will use more so than the oily, smelly kinds on the market. Raise the Numbers & Raise Lyme Disease Awareness!
April 26, 2012- You may have done it, but what about the other 3 million people you can reach out to for help? Of course, if you like the way Lyme disease is being “handled” by the Infectious Disease Society of America (IDSA) and its Guidelines read no further!
Ok now, getting down to business… Until we get the IDSA’s totally unacceptable Lyme Disease Guidelines OFF the market for insurers and others to use against us they are going to prolong the suffering for everyone.
It is time to tell the IDSA and the National Guideline Clearing House (NGC) that WE, no longer that “small, but vocal group” as they once portrayed us to be, but we- ALL OF US- aren’t going to take it anymore!
It is time to tell the world that NO sub-standard medical guidelines are going to stop us from moving forward toward a cure and getting proper treatment by signing the petition linked below, and getting EVERYONE you know and even those you don’t know to sign on. You don’t have to HAVE Lyme disease to sign the petition. Remember, those who don’t have Lyme now may, heaven forbid, need help with it at some point in the future, so let’s all hop to it!
The Opposition- The IDSA guidelines were written years ago by a small group of people determined by the Attorney General (CT) to be riddled with conflicts of interest and who have- failed to control the exploding epidemic, failed miserably with reporting practices, have yet to produce an accurate test with the millions of research dollars allotted, supported a failed vaccine, deterred us from finding a cure, and who have testified against and censored us when ever the opportunity arose. They fought EVERY legislative bill designed to increase research funding, design a better test, or promote science to discover a cure.
Once the IDSA guidelines are off the market for good it will change the way the world looks at, diagnoses and treats Lyme and tick borne disease patients. But, first we need to give the old guidelines the boot- NOW!
Tweet, face book, email and call everyone and ask them to help you raise the number to 25,000 signatures by the end of May for Lyme Disease Awareness Month! You CAN do it! Together WE can do it!
