Educational Campaign- May 2011
Our 'May is Lyme Disease Awareness Month' theme this year is “Get it Right, Treat the Bite!” We encourage everyone to think about Lyme and tick borne diseases when they are bitten by a tick, and to seek medical treatment immediately. Lyme disease, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, Ehrlichia, Bartonella, Mycoplasma, Anaplasma, Tularemia and a host of known and unknown infectious organism can be found in ticks, so why wait?
After all, prevention is the best medicine!
To tick off off this year's efforts we've designed a Racing Lyme Disease Awareness Car promoting the "Get it Right, Treat The Bite!" theme. The effort to race awareness started in March 2011 when the Racing Lyme Disease Awareness Car was entered in the Toyota Sponsafier contest. The contest runs into the month of May 2011 when the grand prize winner will be announced. UPDATE- Our car made the Top 10 Finalist List and we won a custom racing helmet with our Lyme Disease Awareness Month design on it. Please help us promote our educational message now and during the rest of the year...
