A light in the darkness. An unconditional friend to those blessed by the Guiding Light.
It is said that ferrowicks were the first of all familiar species to be created. Bestowed by Lepidlanvhi to help protect her creations and combat the Devouring Darkness. Proactive in her blessing, these creatures were made with simple ingredients to ensure those in her favor could always be guided by her light. An anthroid in her favor only needs a wax brick, an enchanted wick, and essence of the one casting the infusion.
These three simple ingredients bring a ferrowick to life. A forever friend, an unconditionally loyal and fierce protector during the darkest of nights. With a ferrowick by their side, one may find they can no longer succumb to the darkness that threatens them.
When a ferrowick is first brought to life, it cannot form words or speak, but their bonded partner can infer emotions and desires projected by the ferrowick in an attempt to communicate. As time passes and their bond grows, the ferrowick's telepathic abilities will grow. They will absorb the knowledge their master has and allow them to communicate more in depth. Ferrowicks mirror the true self of their masters, embodying the values, habits, and fears that their masters have. They will continue to grow in strength and intellect the longer they are alive.
Ferrowicks cannot be understood by those not bonded to them.
Though ferrowicks can communicate between other ferrowicks.
At this time there is not a way for ferrowicks to be bonded to multiple people, this will unlock later in the game progression!
A wick in the tail and a lit flame on the end is always required in a ferrowick's design.
(Unless the ferrowick is being portraying as injured or dying.)

External Anatomy & Coloration
Ferrowicks have long noodly bodies, similar to a ferret. Their bodies are sculpted from wax that remains pliable as they move and is always slightly melting. Their heads are rounded with no snout or nose, with short erect ears. They have a long tail that shows a portion of exposed enchanted wick with an orange-red flame at the end. They have a set of front and back legs, with small nubs for paws, with no digits present.
Typically a Base level Ferrowick will only be about 30-60cm long from the tip of the nose to the butt, not including the length of the wick which can vary greatly. The wick can also be drawn into the body to appear longer or shorter at any given time.
Please Note: Despite being made of wax, ferrowicks pliability only extends so far. Beyond movement and expression changes, the ferrowick cannot be visually sculpted, display morphs, or hold alternate forms without use of treats. At inception, they will always appear like the example above.
A ferrowick's color at inception relies on the colors of the one infusing it.
At inception a ferrowick will be one solid color. The wick can be of any color that matches their master's palette. Their eyes are white, with their flame color being a natural orange-red.
Internal Anatomy
Throughout a ferrowick's body there is an enchanted wick. It is wound in a tight spiral to help form their long noodly bodies. The wick is malleable and flexible, allowing a ferrowick to stretch really thin or wind itself up tightly, appearing longer or shorter at will. This doesn't increase the size of a ferrowick however. They also cannot manipulate their wick to give them different body types at Base and Novice level.
A ferrowick's "teeth" are made of hardened essentia and can change shape, size, or hardness at will to assist in consuming "food" to fuel their bodies and maintain their flame. The color can be white by default or match a color from their master's palette. These "teeth" only manifest in the mouth and no where else on the body.
While ferrowicks can feel pain if wax is separated from their bodies, they do not typically feel it if they are cut into. To temper and shape their wax bodies feels similar to clipping nails or cutting hair.
Innate & Learnable Magic
Innately a ferrowick contains both elemental fire magic and some arcane psychic magics. As a ferrowick grows stronger, it is capable of producing fireballs, flaming breaths, and other fire attacks. At Base level they can only bark weak flames and sparks. While young, ferrowicks have little control over the flames on their tails, often accidentally catching things on fire or burning their masters. They can learn rather quickly with practice to control the flame, shifting it to be more magical rather than natural.
At Base and Novice level, ferrowicks retain an ability to float despite having no wings. As they become stronger and train with their masters, they may learn other arcane abilities like telekinesis, spiritual healing, teleportation, scrying, and more.
There may be other magics a ferrowick can learn.
More info may be discovered at a later time...
Forbidden Magics
It is well known that like all of Lepidlanvhi's creations, they have no ability to learn necrotic magics.
Diet
A ferrowick's diet consists of anything that can be consumed by fire. They may from time to time eat things like rocks for fun, which won't hurt them, but will take a long time to melt. At inception a ferrowick's hunger is incredibly ravenous, consuming nearly anything that they can to fuel their flame and give them energy to train with their master, learning to absorb knowledge, magic, and form their values and opinions.
It's common to become frustrated with a newly infused ferrowick, as their instincts drive them to eat continuously, and at such a young age they are incapable of discerning what is supposed to be food and what isn't… So keep your clothes and items tucked away safely!
Flavored charcoals are known to be a favorite treat for ferrowicks. The flavor heavily depends on the individual ferrowick, but coal and charcoal are good treats. Fat lighter is another delicacy, though difficult for some motti to find in the wild.
Morphs & Treats
After consuming a Metamorph Treat, the ferrowick gains the ability to alter pieces of themselves such as their ear, face, and paw shapes. Only one treat is needed to unlock this ability.
Metamorph treats do not give the ability to gain additional protrusions, change the body type to things other than wax, or grow larger or smaller.
After consuming a Tempered Treat, a ferrowick's wax becomes moldable! Similar to candle carving, designs may be etched into the wax, it may be meticulously styled to appear like fur or be prevented from having the typical melting look.
The Tempered Treat basically allows a ferrowick to control the stiffness of its wax. They may have small protrusions mirroring spikes, fur or simple shapes. The Tempered Treat doesn't allow for additional eyes to be carved into the ferrowick though.
A Dyemorph Treat changes all of a ferrowick's body colors one time.
After consuming a Rainbow Treat, a ferrowick can change its soul colors at any time, which are reflected through it's eyes and the color of it's flame. After being consumed, the eyes and flame can be any color and do not have to match.

Death & Reinfusion
The flame at the end of a ferrowick's tail is indicative of their health. If the flame on a ferrowick's tail goes out, they will no longer be able to float or use any magic as they sink down to the ground. They will slowly harden over a span of three days, laying down and forming a brick shaped loaf as they harden. The ferrowick's magic will then either be returned to the environment, or if their master is close, it returns to them. The ferrowick's abilities, knowledge and magic all dissipates when it hardens, losing all of it's memories as they become a simple wax brick. You may bring the wax brick to any infusion site to remake your ferrowick, or if the wax brick is lost, you may purchase another and reinfuse a new one. The new one will match your motti's class and level, but have no knowledge or memories of it's former incarnation. If your ferrowick wears a clerical rope with a Memory Stone, then their memories and experiences may be retained once returned to the ferrowick.
If your ferrowick's flame goes out, it can be relit with the Guiding Flame spell, or any blessed temple flames.
If denied fuel after ressurection, however, a ferrowick's flame will quickly flicker out, causing the familiar to harden and die once more.
Some motti have multiple… How do I get more?
The number of ferrowicks a motti can make are limited by their level and class. By default, any anthroid in Lepidlanvhi's grace may create a ferrowick, provided they have the three ingredients: a wax brick, enchanted wick, and essence of the one infusing it.
Moving up within the clerical ranks of the Guiding Light can allow you to create more ferrowicks.
If you fall from Lepidlanvhi's grace, however, you will lose the ability to have and infuse ferrowicks and the current ferrowicks bonded to that character immediately harden and die. There is no way to re-infuse a ferrowick if you've fallen from Lepidlanvhi's grace, even with the Guiding Flame spell. Memory Stone collars do not retain the memories of a ferrowick bonded to someone fallen from grace either.
At the rank of Keeper, you may create and bond to up to three ferrowicks.
At the rank of Bishop, you may create and bond to unlimited ferrowicks.
Clerical ranks are not a mechanic in the game yet, but keep your eyes open for more info in a future update!
