As the age of corruption comes to an end, a new age of healing begins. While the older generations feel afraid, defeated and weary, the newer generations are full of hope, curiosity and determination to fight against all odds and reclaim their lost culture and knowledge. We start our story in Cypress Springs, a large town protected by a divine barrier, preventing the corruption from snuffing out the town and everyone in it. Baron Akistro has had the gates to Cypress Springs locked for 250 years, but with an ever growing population of adventurous youngsters, there is little he can do to prevent them from paving their own ways into the world.

While limited, the knowledge of the age of corruption lingers as a fresh wound in the hearts of the remaining older Lucernans. At the peak of the age, the corruption is thought to have claimed at least half of the world's population, though the information has no way of being verified. With so much tainted magic lingering in the environment, many magics have become weakened, even further limiting communication. After losing loved ones, close friends and the ability to travel between settlements, many Lucernans have hunkered down in their respective towns, with only their divine barriers protecting their borders. As the Lucernans withdrew to keep what little they had left safe, the corruption continued to run rampant in the wilds.
Currently, the majority of the world is covered with the tainted magic, some speculate up to 70%. There is also speculation that nearly 70% of the population was lost alongside it. With so many lives, cultures and knowledge lost to the corruption, many older Lucernans believe that they will not recover from the age of corruption and that slowly but surely, the world will die out.
