Learning intention
Revise learning from the previous lessons
Self-assess how much you have learnt
Success criteria/What should we achieve by the end of the lesson?
If needed, I have gone through lesson 1-5 to revise my knowledge of hobbies
(Grade 2) I have made a hobbies poster
(Grade 3-4) I have completed the Mid-Term Hobbies Assessment (parents can help to read the questions and guide you through the assessment)
For this activity, you need a piece of paper (preferably 2 A4 paper), a grey led pencil, an eraser and some coloured pens/pencils.
This week is for you to assess what you have learnt through term 2 so far. Your task is to make your own hobbies poster that you can display at home to revise your hobbies vocabulary. A sample poster is attached below. You don’t have to copy but use your own creativity.
Feel free to upload your poster to the notice board below.
You can also go through learning activities from the previous 5 lessons to revise your knowledge if you have spare time.
If you don’t feel confident about the hobbies content from this term, please go through learning activities from the previous 5 lessons to revise your knowledge.
You can complete this assessment at another time before the end of the week if you feel tired after the revision.

Learning intention
Revise 5 pronouns
Apply 5 pronouns to hobby sentences to say the hobbies others like and dislike
Success criteria/What should we achieve by the end of the lesson?
I know the meaning of ‘nǐ’, ‘wǒ’, ‘tā’, ‘tā’ and ‘tā’
I understand the meaning of these five Chinese characters – 你我他她它
I can use the sentence pattern ‘… (bù) xǐ huān …’ to say what other people like and dislike
Watch the video below to revise the Chinese character 我 and learn another character 你. Please the instructions in the video to revise your speaking and writing skills.
Watch the video below about three characters 他她它. Can you guess their meanings?
Now watch the video below to learn 他她它.
Go through the pronoun flashcards first, then play the match game. Can you match the words within 10 seconds?
Apply pronouns 他她它 to sentence patterns xǐhuān and bù xǐhuān
To play this Charades game with your family, you need to prepare
8 hobbies written in Pinyin and English on 8 pieces of paper
5 pronouns written in Pinyin and English on 5 pieces of paper
2 words – xǐhuān and bù xǐhuān on 2 pieces of paper
A family member to play with you
How to play:
Put your written Chinese words facing down in three piles (in the order of pronouns, like/dislike and hobbies) in front of your family so nobody can see the words.
They need to draw and hold up 1 card from each pile to create a sentence, for example, I like dancing.
When you understand the sentence your family has created, you need to act it out for your family to guess and say in English. If they are correct, you guys win a point. Keep trying to see how many points you can get.
