International Society for Technology in Education
The International Society for Technology in Education is a community that encourages education professionals to effectively incorporate technology in teaching their students. There are seven standards in total and are broken down into two categories; as an empowered professional and a learning catalyst. The ISTE standards sets goals for educators to stay current, learn, and implement technology into the classroom. Teachers that use ISTE in the classroom promote and optimize the learning experience for the individuals in their classroom.
My Technology in Education Philosophy
Through firsthand experience, technology has provided an advancement in schools. Information and learning tools for both the students and educators has become more accessible through this new and ongoing digital era. When performed correctly, technology has heightened the engagement as well as enhance and extend the students' learning. Incorporating technology in schools also teaches about digital citizenship; how to be safe online, create strong passwords, and how to portray themselves in the digital community.
