It covered how to develop relationships with students, colleagues, and parents while maintaining professionalism. It also discussed the value of digital footprints and how we can help students become more aware of how to present themselves online.

Rationale: This module discussed the importance of recognizing differences in cultures and student backgrounds within the classroom. It also displayed different techniques teachers can utilize to create an all-inclusive classroom for every student, as well as how to include cultural differences in the curriculum.
ISIE #1: Why Don't They Get It?

Rationale: The ISIE #1 project helped me become aware of the diversities that I might see in my future classroom, as well as the importance of why and how we recognize these differences. It also helped me understand how and why to be culturally responsive. Being culturally responsive fosters self-confidence in the students and creates a classroom community.
Adapting a Science Lesson

Rationale: This assignment allowed for me to do perform research on a disability. After learning about the challenges of individuals that are deaf, I designed a science lesson that regarded Natural Selection. I determined different ways to utilize differentiation throughout the lesson to accommodate the needs of learners with this disability.

Class: EDEX 2484 Introduction to Special Education
Semester: Spring 2021
Rationale: While designing the Exceptionalities Newsletter, I was able to learn about the history of disabilities, how to identify possible indicators of learning problems, understanding disabilities and their limitations, as well as what IDEA is. I also became familiar with what an IEP is and how it supports the individual's learning and growth. Being inclusive to every student is important for building their confidence and their sense of competency.
