Class: EDUC 2100 Practicum in Teaching
Semester: Spring 2022
Rationale: In this presentation, I reviewed many different ways to incorporate the instructional strategy, concentric circles, into several different content areas. I believe that this activity can be very engaging for students and is also versatile for many lessons across the K-12 curriculum. I learned that this strategy can be both an instructional and a learning strategy. Concentric circles is great for teaching, studying, and reviewing material.
Practicum Journal 3: Culturally Relevant Content
Class: EDFD 2020 Foundations of Education
Semester: Spring 2021
Rationale: In Practicum Journal 3, I saw numerous ways of how my mentor teacher engaged students in their learning by activating their previous knowledge. She also increased student engagement by tailoring story problems to her students' interests. This allowed me to comprehend how personal identities, prior experiences, and prior learning all play a role in student learning.
