App: SeatExchange: Courtesy Swap (com.krishinnovationlabs.seatexchange)
Developer: Krish Innovation Labs
By using SeatExchange you agree to these terms.
SeatExchange is a tool for arranging a courtesy seat swap with another passenger on the same train, flight, bus or ferry. It puts passengers on the same service in touch anonymously, helps them agree a swap, and records that they confirmed it in person.
It is not the carrier. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any airline, railway, bus operator or ferry company, including any operator whose name appears in the app (for example to show which ticket format applies in your country; for trains in India, IRCTC and Indian Railways). SeatExchange cannot reassign a seat, change a booking, or guarantee that any swap will be permitted.
It does not change your reservation. A swap arranged here has no effect on the operator's reservation records. Your ticket, and the operator's chart or booking system, will still show the seat or berth you were originally allocated, and the swap carries no official validity.
A swap pass is not an authorisation. The verification code SeatExchange produces is a record that two passengers agreed a swap with each other. It is not a document from the operator, and crew may ask you to return to your assigned seat at any time, for any reason. You must comply.
It is not a marketplace. See section 4.
Your carrier's conditions of carriage always take priority over anything arranged in this app. Some operators prohibit changing seats entirely, and on some services seat allocation is safety-related (exit rows, weight and balance, accessible seating, unaccompanied minors). Check with the crew if you are in any doubt. You are responsible for making sure any swap you make is allowed on your service and that your ticket stays valid; SeatExchange does not check this for you.
If you need a seat or berth change that is officially recognised, ask the operator through its own channels (its booking website or app, a reservation counter or ticket office, or the crew on board). A swap arranged in SeatExchange is a courtesy between two passengers, not a substitute for that.
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a contract in your country. SeatExchange is not for children: it involves arranging to meet another passenger in person.
SeatExchange is for courtesy swaps only. No money may change hands between passengers. Asking another passenger to pay you for a seat, or offering to pay for one, is a breach of these terms and of most carriers' conditions of carriage. Do not use the chat to negotiate payment, and do not use SeatExchange to resell, auction or trade seats.
The only money involved is what you pay us for a Swap Token, which is a fee for using the service — not a payment to another passenger and not a payment for a seat.
A Swap Token sends one matched passenger a swap request and opens masked chat with them. If they accept, you see their exact seat. A passenger can always decline, and nothing obliges anyone to swap.
Tokens are bought through Google Play and are specific to a type of journey (bus, train, ferry or flight), because the price differs by journey type.
A token is held, not spent, when you send a request. It is spent only when both passengers confirm the swap in person using the 4-digit code or QR handshake. If the other passenger declines, or the request expires, the token returns to your wallet automatically. If you withdraw a request while it is still waiting for an answer, the token comes back straight away. Once the other passenger has accepted, their seat has been shown to you, so the token stays held until you confirm the swap or the request expires.
You can have up to three requests waiting for an answer at a time.
Welcome swaps. New users get two free swaps, usable on any type of journey and used before any token you bought. They work like tokens (held, then spent only on a confirmed swap), are one per person, and have no cash value. We may change or end the welcome offer for new users at any time, and may withhold it where it appears to be claimed again by resetting or reinstalling the app.
Tokens have no cash value, cannot be transferred between accounts or devices, and cannot be exchanged for money. Refunds for money paid are handled by Google Play under its own refund policy.
Unused tokens are tied to the Google Play purchase, not to your trip, and are not lost when a trip ends.
SeatExchange only works if people are civil to each other in a confined space they cannot leave. You agree not to:
harass, threaten or abuse another passenger, in the app or in person;
attempt to identify another passenger, or ask them for their name, number or social accounts — the app removes contact details from messages, and trying to work around that is a breach of these terms;
post false trip or seat details, or claim a seat that is not yours;
use the app to sell, auction or barter seats, or to advertise anything;
interfere with crew, or pressure anyone who has declined a swap.
We may block access to the service for anyone who breaks these rules. Because SeatExchange holds no accounts and no personal data, enforcement is necessarily limited — which is one more reason to be decent.
SeatExchange does not verify who anyone is, or whether their trip or seat details are true. Everything another passenger shows in the app is what they typed or scanned themselves. Before you swap, check for yourself, in person, that the coach, deck or cabin and the seat or berth number match what the app told you, and that you are both on the same service. Do not rely on the app to have checked it.
A swap means approaching a stranger aboard a vehicle. Use your judgement. Never feel obliged to complete a swap you have agreed to, and never hand over a boarding pass, ticket or phone to another passenger. If someone makes you uncomfortable, decline, stop replying, and speak to the crew.
SeatExchange depends on other passengers using it. There is no guarantee that anyone on your service will be in the Trip Room, or that any match will accept. The service is provided as is, and may be unavailable, interrupted or discontinued.
Notifications are optional and best-effort. A trip reminder is timed only from the travel date and departure time you entered. SeatExchange does not know your carrier's real timetable, delays, platform, gate or boarding time. Android may deliver a reminder or a swap-request update late, or not at all, for example in battery saver or with no network. Do not rely on SeatExchange to get you to your departure on time. Always follow your carrier's own information and announcements.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Krish Innovation Labs is not liable for anything arising from a seat swap, a refusal to permit a swap, the conduct of another passenger, any information another passenger gives you, or any missed, delayed or disrupted journey. That includes any fine, penalty or excess fare, a ticket inspection or a ticket being treated as invalid, being asked to return to your allocated seat or to leave the vehicle, or being refused carriage, where any of these follows from a seat change. We are also not liable for any indirect or consequential loss. Seat swaps are made at your own risk. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for Swap Tokens in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
See the Privacy Policy.
We may update these terms, for example when the app changes or the law requires it. The effective date above changes when we do, and continued use of the app after that date means you accept the new terms.
