BestFrame AI — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-08-29
Krish Innovation Labs ("we," "us," "our") built BestFrame AI ("the app") to help you clean up camera bursts and near-duplicate photos on your Android device. This Privacy Policy explains what the app accesses, what (if anything) ever leaves your device, and why.
Our core principle: on-device by default
BestFrame AI has no backend server of its own. There is no BestFrame account, no sign-up, and no login required to use any core feature of the app. Scanning your photo library, detecting bursts and duplicates, scoring each photo, and picking the best shot in each group all happen entirely on your device using on-device machine learning (Google's ML Kit). Your photos and their contents are never uploaded to us, because we have nowhere to upload them to.
What the app accesses on your device, and why
Photos (READ_MEDIA_IMAGES / READ_MEDIA_VISUAL_USER_SELECTED / READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE on older Android versions): to scan your photo library, group bursts/near-duplicates, and score each photo for sharpness, exposure, and (when people are in frame) face quality — eyes open, in focus. This never leaves your device.
Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): to let you know when a scan is running or when photos are ready for you to review and declutter.
Internet / network state (INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE): required to show ads (see below) and, only if you explicitly turn on the optional Cloud Backup feature, to upload a photo to your own Google Photos account (see below).
Advertising ID (AD_ID): used by Google's Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob) to serve and measure ads on the free tier. You can reset or limit this at any time in your device's Google Ads Settings.
Deleting photos: Android's own Trash, never a permanent delete
When you confirm cleanup of a group, BestFrame AI never permanently deletes anything itself. It uses Android's built-in system Trash (MediaStore.createTrashRequest) — the same mechanism your device's own Photos/Gallery app uses. Trashed photos remain recoverable through your device's own Trash/Recycle Bin for the period your device provides, exactly as if you'd trashed them yourself in any other gallery app.
Optional Cloud Backup (Premium/Pro tiers only, off by default)
If you choose to turn on Cloud Backup and connect your Google account, BestFrame AI uploads the single best photo from each cleaned-up group directly to your own Google Photos library, using Google's official Photos Library API with a narrow, upload-only permission scope. We never see, store, or have access to that photo — it goes from your device straight into your own Google account, the same way any app you authorize to back up to your own cloud storage works. You can disconnect this at any time in the app or by revoking BestFrame AI's access in your Google Account settings.
In-app purchases
Subscriptions (Premium, Pro) are sold and processed entirely through Google Play Billing. We never see or receive your payment card details — Google handles that directly.
Advertising
Free-tier users see ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may use your device's Advertising ID to personalize and measure ads, subject to Google's own privacy practices and the consent choices you make when prompted (Google's User Messaging Platform / UMP). We do not control or receive the data AdMob collects for ad serving beyond standard, anonymized ad-performance reporting.
Analytics and crash reporting
A future version of BestFrame AI may use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to help us understand feature usage and fix crashes. If enabled, these collect anonymized technical data such as device model, OS version, app version, and crash stack traces — never your photos, their content, or anything that identifies you personally. This policy will be updated before that is turned on for any release.
What we do NOT do
We do not collect, receive, or store your photos, or any information about what's in them, on any server we control.
We do not require you to create an account or provide your name or email address to use the app.
We do not sell your personal data.
We do not share your data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Children's privacy
BestFrame AI is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Data deletion
Because BestFrame AI does not store your data on any server, there is nothing for us to delete on request. Uninstalling the app removes all of its on-device data. If you used Cloud Backup, you can delete backed-up photos or revoke access at any time directly in your own Google Photos / Google Account, independent of BestFrame AI.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. We'll update the "Last updated" date above whenever we do.
