Michael Hayes

Michael Hayes was born in New York City, went to high school in Los Angeles, and college in the mid-west. He has a PhD in Psychology from the University of Michigan.

Although he comes from a literary family, he only started writing upon the death of his wife, six years ago.

He was a finalist in the Key West Literary Seminar’s Scott Merrill Emerging Poet Award 2021. Also, he was invited, for the two consecutive years, to participate in the Key West Literary Seminar’s Advanced Poetry Workshop. He has lived in Key West for 20 years.
