Joanna Brady
Joanna Brady is author of The Woman at the Light published by St. Martin’s Griffen, 2012 and Night Witch in Berlin, published in 2021. Born in Canada, Joanna is a dual citizen. She retired from her position as a Creative Director at Ogilvy & Mather Advertising (Toronto) in 1995 and moved to Key West where she has contributed to three different newspapers while writing novels and short stories. She was a columnist and features writer for Solares Hill and the Key West Citizen for many years, writing their “home of the week” columns. Her weekly food column ran for about ten years. More recently, she was the theater reviewer for KonkLife.
Joanna joined the Key West Writers Guild in 1996 and has served the group in various capacities. She was twice awarded the annual grant from the Key West Council for the Arts for a novel in progress, as well as the Anne McKee annual grant. Further, she has received several awards for her short stories, some of which have found their way into editions of the Guild’s Anthology. Joanna has lived in Canada, Italy and in France, and she has frequently mined her sojourns in those countries for her stories. Watch for Joanna’s new work, a collection of short stories—mostly humorous—most of which take place in Key West.
