Lesa McComas

One of the first generation of women Surface Warfare Officers in the U.S. Navy, Lesa retired from the Navy after 20 years and currently works part time as a defense analyst. She earned Master of Science in operations analysis from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California and a Bachelor of Arts in biology from Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Lesa coauthored/ authored the last three editions of Naval Officer’s Guide, a textbook for prospective Naval Officers published by Naval Institute Press, and was a regularly featured columnist in  Navy Times. She is currently at work on a historical novel based on the anti-communist investigations of  the 1950s. 

Lesa and her husband, Peter Bennett, a retired optomechanical engineer, divide their time between Key West, Florida and their summer home in Delta, Pennsylvania.
