ML’s novel, The Doll from Dunedin, the second in her genealogy mystery series. In this second century-old cold case, her protagonist searches for a missing heir and through her diligence discovers the story behind the disappearance of Dorothy Arnold, a New York City perfume heiress who disappeared and was never found.
The Desk From Hoboken, the first in her genealogy mystery series blends facts with fiction and using historical records with current technology attempts to solve a two-century-old cold case of the mysterious death of Mary Rogers, the woman who inspired Edgar Allan Poe to write one of the first detective stories.
ML has published short stories in several anthologies: Strange & Sweet (2019) and Tall Tales and Timeless Stories (2022) from Granbury Writers Bloc; Malice in Dallas, Metroplex Mysteries, Volume 1 (2022), and Restless in Texas, Metroplex Mysteries, Volume 2 (2023) from Sisters in Crime; and More Words from the End of the Road (2022) from KWWG.
“A Cowgirl Farewell” won first place in the Mystery/Crime category of Writer’s Digest 15th Annual Popular Fiction Awards, (2019). “The Yellow Poster” won 2nd Place in the Tennessee Williams Annual Short Story Competition (2022).
ML completed the Southern Methodist University’s Writer’s Path in Dallas in 2019 and participated in a New York Seminar along with twelve other selected writers in the program.
She’s a member of Mystery Writers of America Florida Chapter, Sisters in Crime National, Sisters in Crime North Dallas, Granbury Writers’ Bloc, and Key West Writers Guild.
Most recently she has been inducted into the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). Her study of genealogy for her novel series led her to research her own family where she discovered she had a direct bloodline to a Revolutionary Patriot.
